A exhibition of sketches was held in the Spin-Ghar restaurant last Tuesday, March 3, in eastern Jalalabad city to mark the recent achievements of the Afghan National Cricket team.
The one-day long exhibition was dedicated to the 15-member squad of the Afghan National Cricket team who are now representing the country in the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New-Zealand. The pictures were drawn by well known artist Hamdullah Arbab and was attended by guests, media representatives and government authorities.
Cricket Board Director Nasimullah Danish, Cricket Manager for Eastern Zone, Bakhtyar Sahil, Director of information and Culture Awrang Samim and former batsman Hasti Gull Abid also participated in the exhibition.
Nasim Danish, while visiting the exhibition praised Hamdullah Arbab’s efforts and art and added that beside paintings, each photo shows pure sentiments and love for the players. Danish pledged to support Arbab in his efforts.
Danish added that Cricket Board will respond this honor with a certificate of Appreciation for Arbab.
Arbab thanked Nasim Danish and Cricket board and said, “I started painting the pictures of Afghan players when the 2015 World Cup started and wanted to hold this exhibition”.
He added that he will continue painting pictures of Afghan players and will give it to Cricket Board.
He also asked to be provided with a space in National Gallery to exhibit the photos of Afghan cricket national players.
